| Clellan Card's Laugh
Book Northrup, King & Co. published this joke book in April 1940. Priced at ten cents, it was free with a proof of purchase of any Northrup, King product. At the time, Clellan's popularity was so great that almost immediately orders began to pour in at the rate of nearly 1,000 per day! By the end of May, the entire print run of 40,000 copies was completely sold out. The Laugh Book sold so well that even today, almost sixty years later, it's not terribly hard to find. |
