Allan's Window

Mary Davies first portrayed Carmen the Nurse in October 1954, substituting for Clellan Card on "Axel & His Dog" while Clellan was ill. She continued as the substitute host and occasional guest on the program until she became the regular co-host, probably in early 1963 following Don Stolz's departure. After Clellan died on April 13, 1966, she became the sole host of the show. She continued to appear on "Carmen's Cottage" until the program was cancelled in March 1977, having played the character for more than 22 years.

John Gallos played Clancy the (Keystone) Cop on WCCO-TV Channel 4 in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, from 1959 till 1961. He became Clancy the Space Cop for about one season in 1962, and then in September 1963, he first appeared on WCCO-TV in his most enduring role: Clancy the Cop. He was soon joined on the show by aspiring actor Allan Lotsberg as bumbling sidekick Willie Ketchem. "Clancy and Co." (later retitled "Clancy and Willie") aired until March 1977. After both "Clancy and Willie" and "Carmen's Cottage" were cancelled, "Allan's Window" starring Allan Lotsberg was broadcast for a couple of years. It was pretty much the last gasp of original local children's television programming in the Twin Cities.
